Sometimes it happens that someone is calling you very loudly and the volume of TV is high, still you hear very less sound. If this happens to you often, then be aware because this might be the starting of any serious hearing illness. 

To prevent yourself from any ear problem, you need to take a few steps. 

Normally, your hearing ability declines when the sensitive cells in your ears starts damaging. Using headphones whole day, listening to music in high volume, spending too much time on phone calls or spending too much time in noisy environment can also lead to this problem.

For improving your hearing ability, you need to take a properly balanced diet. For keeping your ears healthy, you need to have proper consumption of Vitamin B12 in the body. Apart from this, you can also take potassium and magnesium in your diet. For benefit of your ears, you should take a iron rich diet. 

If someone in your family already has any hearing problem, you should go fir a check up. Sometimes, we are unaware of this fact that with advancing age, our ears get affected. Stress can also affect your hearing abilities. ENT specialist can also suggest you some exercises which will be beneficial to you. High blood pressure can damage your inner ear cells and similarly, diabetes can also affect your ears. 

If you are a habitual smoker or alcoholic, then also you can have hearing problems.

Please keep this in mind that without consulting any doctor, do not take any medication in case of pain in ear or any sort of swelling.
